Stop calling yourself old, says a new study
Wed Feb 20, 2013
To call information like this "touchy-feely garbage" is pretty narrow minded. Eating disorders are serious illnesses that lead to death for many people, mostly women. Research to understand the psychology behind such problems is important and useful. It's important not to trivialize it.
'KKK leader' vows mass rally over renaming of Confederate-themed parks
Thu Feb 7, 2013
No. We wouldn't all want slaves just because we could have them. Your statement assumes the worst about people. Many people understand that their lives are cheapened when they treat others badly.
Hey, hot stuff — you're fired: Iowa court upholds termination of attractive employee
Mon Dec 24, 2012
This is very bizarre reasoning on the part of the dentist and the male judges. The assumption is that the male dentist doesn't have enough self-control to manage his behavior around the employee.
Boehner's fiscal path forward: 'God only knows'
Fri Dec 21, 2012
Obama proposed a plan that would have made a 10 to 1 ratio in spending cuts to tax increases. Tea Party fanatics rejected it, thinking they could beat Obama at the polls and continue tax cuts for millionaires. McConnell acts as if he has no responsibility for coming up with ideas, other than the ins …
Bomb threats force evacuations at multiple Tennessee courthouses
Tue Nov 27, 2012
My money's on a Tea Party secessionist, or a similarly minded extremist. Probably imagining that he'll start a revolution- sees himself as a "patriot". Sad type of person who doesn't have a clue about why the country is the way it is, and what will make it better.
JPMorgan CEO Dimon: I'll pay more taxes
Wed Oct 10, 2012
The entire point of the article is not just that Dimon acknowledges he can and should pay more, but that someone the Republicans cater to as a Master of the Universe agrees that wealthy people can and should pay more.
Suspicion of poll, jobs numbers takes hold on right
Sat Oct 6, 2012
More right wing paranoia, resulting from their inability to recognize that intelligent, patriotic Americans can think differently from them.
Student loans, backed by government, crush many families
Sun Oct 7, 2012
Conservatives seem to be pissed off all the time. Now they're angry that parents who want something better for their children are realistically stating that repaying college debt is a huge burden. You'd think these conservatives always make the best decisions, that they always do only the "reasonabl …
Humans broke off Neanderthal sex after leaving Africa
Thu Oct 4, 2012
I'm sure there are many women who feel they are still having sex with Neanderthals.
Court: Illinois can't force pharmacists to give 'morning after' pill
Sat Sep 22, 2012
WHat about professional obligation? What about the rights and needs of women for access to legal medications? This isn't as much about religious freedom as it is about the religious majority forcing its beliefs on everyone else.
